Report theme
A report theme is a saved set of design choices, such as colours, fonts, logo, header and cover page, that every report using it is rendered with.
Why reports need one
When each report is styled by hand, the month-end pack ends up in four slightly different blues and two versions of the logo. A rebrand then means opening every report again.
A theme keeps the look in one place. Reports refer to the theme, so a change to the theme reaches every report that uses it.
What a good theme covers
-
Colours, fonts and sizes for text, headings, tables and charts.
-
The logo, a header, a footer and an optional cover page with a photo.
-
Colour pairs that stay readable in print and on screen.
-
Room for a single report to change its cover, orientation or page size and keep the rest of the theme.
Report themes in STRAX
STRAX reports are rendered with a report theme. You set a company default that every report follows, upload a logo and get colours suggested from it, and STRAX checks every colour pair for readability. The assistant can design a theme from a description, and the marketplace offers ready-made themes, such as the Report Themes Starter Pack, that you customise as your own copy.
